NYCB Vol. 9 No. 7 - Nutcracker

Updated: Apr 4

(7/50) The best thing you will see all day today is little baby Suzy Pilarre as a Polichinelle when she was 11 years old. The pictures that don't look like they were on the City Center stage are behind the scenes photos in a TV studio during the 1958 taping of the Nutcracker for CBS.

By the way, if you haven't yet, I recommend listening to my interview with Suzy about her life in Balanchine's orbit, beginning when she was 10 years old at School of American Ballet. Find the Immortal Icons of Dance podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or here.
