Happy Birthday, Maria Tallchief!

In her autobiography she reflected:

“Heaven knows, in my artistic quest I hadn’t achieved perfection no matter how hard I tried; perhaps it isn’t possible, but it was always my goal. Now I believe that I glimpse a kind of perfection in the natural glories spread out before me every day. I thrive on the beauty and order of nature in my corner of the world, and am content to be by myself in it…and with the memories of those I have loved.”
