In this week’s episode of Immortal Icons of Dance we focus on the legendary photographer of ballet and Broadway, Martha Swope, who helped to immortalize hundreds of performers and productions with her images. You’ve seen her name in the captions of literally thousands of my posts and now we get to learn about the woman behind the camera!

This episode consists of two interviews: Delia Peters, a former NYCB dancer and close friend of Martha’s, talks about their friendship. Carol Rosegg, a protege of Martha’s who is now an preeminent theater photographer, talks about what she learned from Martha as a young photographer in New York.
The photos of Delia and Martha on vacation are discussed in the episode.
