NYCB Vol. 6 No. 34 - Sleeping Beauty

In 1890, at the age of 23, Italian ballerina, Carlotta Brianza originated the role of Aurora in Petipa's Sleeping Beauty. Thirty-one years later, at 54, she came out of retirement to play Carabosse at the invitation of Diaghilev for his Ballet Russe.
