In A Midsummer Night's Dream, Puck is a mischievous fairy who is a servant to Oberon, the fairy king. Originally danced by Arthur Mitchell, Puck is the one who invites the audience into the story. He shares all the secrets with the audience and is notably ornery and charismatic. 🧚🏾‍♂️

The poet, Marianne Moore (1887-1972) wrote a Poem titled "Arthur Mitchell," inspired by his performance as Puck:

Slim dragon-fly

too rapid for the eye

to cage,

contagious gem of virtuosity

make visible, mentality.

Your jewels of mobility

reveal

and veil

a peacock-tail.
