In an interview with Edwin Denby on Dances at a Gathering, Robbins said, “The second dance, for John Prinz and Allegra Kent, I call it 'wind waltz' because to me they are like two things that are on the wind that catch up with each other. There is something about air–breezes which are clawing them and pushing them almost like two kites.”
